We are cheese people, deeply rooted in history and tradition. Founded in 1936 in New Bothwell, Manitoba by local farmers, Bothwell Cheese is Canada’s largest independently owned cheese company. Using state-of-the-art machinery, we produce 15,000 kg of cheese every day.
We have the same idea today as we did 85 years ago: to provide high quality cheese, great tasting products using 100% fresh Canadian milk and no modified milk ingredients. Sourcing local ingredients is important to us. 98% of our ingredients come from within 100 km of our plant. As a result, we have been able to build strong connections with the local dairy community.
Over time, Bothwell Cheese has grown its product portfolio, and introduced innovation into flavourful (specialty) cheese, snacking cheese, lactose-free cheese and Non-GMO cheese categories. We are proud to offer Canadians a variety of natural, premium, and award-winning cheeses including cheddars, flavoured cheese, slices, cubes, and curds.
