The deadline to enter The Great Manitoba Food Fight is coming up quickly!  Submit your made-in-Manitoba new and innovative food or alcoholic beverage product for a chance to win an award package to help launch your product into the marketplace.  The deadline to submit your product is Friday, August 4, 2017.  Visit https://www.gov.mb.ca/agriculture/food-and-ag-processing/food-commercialization/gmff/ for details.

On September 20, 2017, two separate contests will be held back-to-back at De Luca’s: The “Food Edition” where 10 food entrepreneurs will compete, and the “Pub Edition” where three alcoholic beverage contestants will compete.  Separate award packages will be handed out.

Awards can be used for a variety of expenses such as research and development and training with direct application to commercializing the winning product.  Winners will also receive a one-year Food & Beverage Manitoba membership with credits towards training courses and networking events.

The 2016 Great Manitoba Food Fight winners were Food & Beverage Manitoba members John Heim (Torque Brewing Company) who won the $10,000 Gold Package award, Katy Unrah (Katy’s Kookies) took home the $7,500 Silver Package award, and taking home the $3,500 Bronze Package award was Kimberley Bialkowski (Flora + Farmer).

The Great Manitoba Food Fight is presented by Manitoba Agriculture, in partnership with De Luca’s and Food & Beverage Manitoba.
